Ivan Hawley
It is with great sadness that we announce his peaceful passing on May 27, 2016, at the age 80.
Beloved husband of Kathleen Pound, he was the proud father of Susan and Allan; stepfather of Luc Soulière (Susan England), Natalie Soulière (Eric Bastien), Sonia Soulière (Daryl Lafleur) and grandfather of: Benjamin, Marissa, Ally, Simon, Noémie, Matis, Alexandra and Olivia. He also leaves behind his two sisters: Irene Murray and Joan (Doug Popkes); his mother-in-law Pauline Pound as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.
Predeceased by his first wife, Sharon Hawley; his parents John Hawley and Lyla Ingram and his brother Ken.
The celebration of prayers will be held at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L'OUTAOUAIS, at 95, Cité-des-Jeunes Bvld, in Gatineau (Hull sector), on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. The family will receive condolences as of 1:30 p.m.
For those who wish to do so, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

You made me discover and develop an appreciation for the CFL and the dark beer, yours is the only one I drink still to this day... I'll make sure to have one in your memory for every Grey Cup championships. I might even cheers for Bombers. As for the Jets, I'll think about it! You were a great grandfather to my kids and you'll be missed.

Ivan was one of my instructors at the Canadian Forces Air Navigation School in 1983 and was an excellent example to student navigators of how to remain calm under stressful situations. His instructional techniques inspired confidence in his students and permitted us to calculate and find stars, landmarks and radio aids when we were "temporarily unsure of our position". A gentleman in all things, he will be missed.
