Gilberte Courtemanche (nee Marcotte).
She passed away, peacefully, on December 29, at the Hopital de Hull, in her 95th year. She was predeceased by her husband Guy. Gilberte was the last of her generation of Marcottes.
She is survived by all of her children Gilles (June), Yves, Jean, Rene, Michel, Luc, Camille (Pat), Alain and her only daughter Sylvie. Proud and loving “Grand Maman” to Cindy, Kelly, Tracy, Christine, Daniel, Antoine, Sarah, Morag and Patrick. She was a doting “Grand Grand Maman” to Nathan, Amelia, Camille, Sophie, Felix, Olivier, Hazen, Isabelle, Isaac, Ella and Gabriel. Her great smile and zest for life will be dearly missed by all.
A “Celebration of Life” for family and close friends will be held later.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Je garde en souvenir cette grande-tante si gentille qui m'envoyait par la poste des vêtements de poupée faits à la main et prenait un moment à chaque visite pour me réapprendre à comment tricoter. Les visites à Ottawa restent des moments marquants pour moi.
J'envoie toutes mes condoléances à la famille. Tante Gilberte était une personne formidable et elle vivra dans nos mémoires pour toujours.

I am very sorry to read of the passing of the matriarch of the family. The Gill family, father Tom mother Elsie and the three kids, me as the oldest, Patsy and my brother Don lived on Ancaster, almost backing your home on Woodroffe. I remember Mme. Courtemanche as very kind with a beautiful smile. She was a great neighbour, especially to my Mom after my Dad died. My sincerest condolences for your loss.
