BARBARA CLEGG BENNETT

1929-2020

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our sweet mom, Wednesday July 8th, 2020. Loving wife to Harry Bennett (predeceased), cherished mother to Sharon (predeceased) (Michael Throp), Jo-Anne, Brian (predeceased) and Lori (Luc Carrière). Adoring Nanny to Nicholas, William, Jessica (Yan Théorêt), Grant (Valerie Bowman). Great Nanny to Gavin, Miller, Ozzy and Anna. Treasured by many nieces, nephews and friends. Beloved daughter of artist Grace McLellan-Clegg and Chelsea beekeeper Henry Clegg. Big loving sister to Malcolm (Susan Klassen) and Eldon (Eva Fuhrmann). Welcomed with smiles by many wonderful Newton Lake, Lac Grand-Poisson-Blanc and Lac-Sainte-Marie neighbours.

We will remain forever grateful to the Low, Gracefield and Maniwaki CLSC staff for their ongoing professional care, kind support and formed friendships over the years. You all became part of the family; Nurses Sarah, Tanya, Melissa, Danielle, Dr. Pat Legault, Home Care Assistant Natalie, Inhalotherapist Claire and so many others as well as the coop staff Guylaine, Jessica and Sandy (des Vrais Coeurs).  We were truly blessed and Mom loved you all dearly. Thank you.

Although we would like to receive all family members and friends, due to the current Health Canada recommendations and for our loved one’s safety, we must limit our invitations to a minimum. With that said, only those contacted personally by Jo-Anne or Lori should attend the celebration of Mom’s life.

For those who wish to do so, please donate to the Ottawa Valley Wild Bird Care Center in lieu of flowers.

Barb was a very special person, although I only knew her for a short time I had the pleasure of spending precious times with her. Loved our shopping trips, our outings, lunches at restaurants, listening to the birds, reading, going through photo albums, hearing many stories about her life with Harry and the kids. She was a great story teller. She will be missed.
