It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Kirk Arsenault, a devoted, and loving husband who left us far too soon on January 19th, 2025, at the age of 63. He was the son of the late Fred Arsenault, the late Doris Anderton, Kathleen Tedford, and Keith Tedford. He leaves behind his beloved spouse, Kathleen Bigelow, his sisters Krista and late Karen, and his brother Kenton (Margaret), nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and friends.
Kirk was passionate, he found joy and peace in exploring new places and cultures. His love for snorkeling allowed him to connect and cherish the beauty of the ocean, this calming embrace brought great comfort and gratitude. We would like to take this moment to highlight his remarkable courage and unwavering resilience throughout his battle with cancer.
The celebration of his life, in the presence of the ashes, will be held at the Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais - Buckingham Pavilion (Building), 116 MacLaren Street East, Gatineau QC J8L 1K1 on Friday, February 7th, 2025. The family will be receiving condolences as of 5:30 p.m. and the ceremony will start at 6 p.m. Following the ceremony there will be a private gathering to honour his memory.
Instead of flowers, those who wish to donate in the honour of Kirk, please send your donations to the palliative care house Le Monarque
His wife Kathleen would like to thank the cancer doctors, nurses and the CLSC staff who made this painful journey bearable.

I am sorry for your loss Kathleen as Kirk was your spouse, lover friend and companion. Please know that as I have known you for over 15 years that you do not need to be afraid to ask me for help during this difficult time as you know I will be there for you.
Kirk was certainly a character who loved to travel, meet new people, and talk about many things. I have fond memories of Kirk on a work boat cruise, restaurants and dinners at your home, and at the cottage, whether it be four wheeling, talking about his passion for real estate, antiques, travel, jumping into the cold water and stories over fires at night.
I am very grateful that I was able to say goodbye to Kirk before he went to heaven. Thanks for letting me visit you both. Even as sick and weak Kirk was on this day, he fought hard and still wanted to sit up. With our help he was able to sit up and did.
Kathleen you are a strong woman for taking good care of Kirk as he struggled with that nasty disease cancer. You honoured his wishes as he wanted to stay at home and you made this possible. You put Kirk’s needs ahead of your own and with the help of many professionals Kirk was able to get his wish.
I was impressed when the cancer doctor made a visit on a Friday night to see how Kirk was doing and to ensure you had the medications you needed for him.
Talk about a decent human being and doctor.
I will miss Kirk, all his stories and even after going through treatment, he would tell me he was still alive and was thankful for this.
Sending you lots of love at this difficult time Kathleen.
