It is with deep sadness that the family of Gordon Kenny announce his death, which occurred on May 30th,2022, at the palliative care unit of the Residence du Monarque, Montebello, Quebec. Born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, on February 17,1941, he was the son of Patrick Kenny and Clara ( Alain) Kenny. Gordon is survived by his loving wife of nearly 57 years, Doris Kenny of Gatineau, Quebec; sons Mark Kenny (Laverne) of Carleton Place, ON, Paul Kenny (Wendy) of Nepean ON; grandsons whom he adored, Dylan, Ryan, Anthony and Matthew; siblings; Richard Kenny (Jacinthe),Grace Castonguay (Paul), Peter Kenny ( Mireille), Mary Kenny and Margaret Kenny; brother-in-law Stuart Garrett; sister-in-law Opal Kenny, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his sister Cecile Garrett and his brother Harold Kenny. Gordon was in the first class to graduate with a Masters Degree in Psychology from the Université de Moncton. He was a very dedicated psychologist and was the first in his field to go into full time private practice in New Brunswick, a career that he was dedicated to for over 30 years. Gordon was proud of his work at the Mental Health Clinic in Bathurst, where one of his accomplishments was to open mental health facilities in both the Miramichi and the Acadian Peninsula. He later sat on the federal appeals board for CPP and OAS and the New Brunswick Board of Workers Compensation. Gordon also did his civic duty by being a councillor for the city of Bathurst. He was an author who published a book on the technique he used to successfully heal his patients and he wrote numerous articles on psychology. In 1975, he earned his pilot’s licence, a licence he carried in his wallet until his death. Gordon was an avid sailor and did many sailing trips within the Maritime waters. He loved camping with family and friends and enjoyed the many BBQ's and abundant food fests. After his death, Gordon carried out his last honourable act, he donated his body to science. The family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date. Donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. He will be missed, may his soul Rest In Peace.

To all the family of this great man, Gordon Kenny,
Sending my most sincere sympathy to all of you.
Mr Kenny was a great man.
I graduated from the Bathurst School of Nursing in 1980 and had Mr Kenny as our Psychology teacher.
It was an interesting course and he was a great teacher.
Upon reading his obituary I can see that he had a very interesting and fulfilling life.
How great that he left his body to Science !
May his soul Rest In Peace.
Sincerely Margaret Sealy RN
